AV Technician

Full-Time | Based in Michigan | Occasional Travel Required

Do you love working with your hands, solving problems on the fly, and seeing your work come to life in high-end homes and custom spaces?

At MiHome Systems, we’re not your average AV shop. We design and install next-level smart home systems—think whole-home audio, lighting control, shading, surveillance, and more. We’re looking for a skilled AV Technician who takes pride in clean installs, precise work, and helping clients experience their tech the way it was meant to be.

What You’ll Do
You’ll work on a team of techs and project managers to install and support custom AV systems in luxury, residential homes.

Your day-to-day might include:

  • Fabricating and wiring AV equipment racks
  • Pulling, terminating, and labeling structured cabling
  • Mounting TVs, speakers, cameras, network equipment and other smart devices with precision
  • Troubleshooting and servicing existing setups
  • Representing our company with professionalism and pride—whether you’re on a construction site or in a client’s home

Who This Role is Perfect For
You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Like working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment
  • Are comfortable climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and being on your feet
  • Know your way around cable termination, rack building, and smart home gear (or are excited to learn)
  • Take ownership of your work, show up ready to figure things out, and have great attendance
  • Have solid people skills—you know how to explain things to clients in plain language
  • Are curious and motivated—you want to keep learning and growing your skills

Nice-to-Haves (but not required)

  • 1+ year experience installing audio/visual or low-voltage systems
  • Experience with brands like Crestron, Lutron, Savant, Control4, or similar
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Certifications or willingness to pursue them (CEDIA, Crestron, etc.)

The Details

  • Training provided (and we’ll support your certifications)
  • Most work is local to West Michigan; occasional travel out of state
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs and work on ladders, crawlspaces, and attics
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean record
  • Must pass a background check and drug test

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive salary based on experience (45K-65K)
  • Health insurance
  • Retirement contribution
  • PTO + Holiday Pay
  • Company paid, relevant continued education and/or certification
  • A chance to grow with a tight-knit team that values craftsmanship, teamwork, and doing it right the first time
